Growing up in Versailles, KY, Blake is a native to Central Kentucky. Upon graduation from Woodford County High School, Blake attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. During his undergraduate career, Blake was very active on campus including being captain of the Cross Country team his senior year. Blake earned a Bachelors of Arts degree while majoring in History and minoring in Mathematics. Blake attended Northern Kentucky University - Salmon P. Chase College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Upon passage of the Kentucky Bar Exam, Blake was hired as an Assistant Public Advocate in Maysville, KY where he practiced law for nearly eight years. After representing numerous clients within the 19th Judicial Circuit, Blake accepted an Associate Attorney position at Fox, Wood, Wood, & Estill and was also appointed as an Assistant County Attorney in Mason County, Kentucky. Blake actively represented the Commonwealth in numerous criminal cases within Mason County and served as a general litigator at his firm. While holding this position Blake was elected president of the Mason-Bracken Bar Association and re-elected to a second term. Blake is a good standing member of the Kentucky Bar Association and also a member of the Kentucky Bar Foundation.
